Hello,

On Sunsetter's website you will find information about three PRA affected litter mates: http://www.sunsetters.de/sites/beatles.htm

In most breeds, including the Gordon setter, PRA is inherited as an autosomal recessive trait.

...."As with all autosomal recessive disorders, the number of carriers in the population far exceeds the number of affected dogs. It is when these carriers are bred together that affected dogs are produced"....*

Please consider the fact that all dogs having either an affected sire or dam are PRA carriers!

I hope there will be an DNA gen test soon..this would help so much. There is only very few info available, very few names and there must be much more .. Good thing is that when we have the DNA marker we still can use some lines, but we know how to combinate without taking risks and that is important.
